I am so happy after knowing Tare Zameen Per has been thrown out of the Oscar’s race. How come a man who has labeled several cine awards as biased so eager to win the Oscar. Double standards Aamir? I think he needs to work more on his shrewd strategies to market himself as the most sensible, hard-working, innovative and perfect actor. Movies for him are just a self promotion tool. Rest is bullshit.

Amir Khan is par excellence
Mr. Kumar Saurav,
I sincerely disagree with your above views on Amir Khan.
Amir Khan does not require a Cine Award or an Oscar, as a certificate to show how good he is in his field. His movies speaks volumes on his acting and direction skills.
He has already received millions and millions of Oscar awards in the form of appreciation and applaud from all his fans for TZP.
More glaring examples of self promoting duds are the Sharukhs, Abhisheks and Salmans of the industry.
regards

I agree
I agree with the blogger that Amir Khan is very happy receiving Oscar which probably is one of the most biased and rigged award show ever but doesnt want to attend or receive Indian awards. This is nothing but hypocrisy. He is not the only method actor or actor with substance or whatever he likes to percieve himself. But his constant reminder of how good , dedicated he is kind of gets on your nerves after a while.

I too agree
I too agree with Saurav. No doubt Aamir is a great actor, but this fact does not give him immunity from hypocrisy.

Whats the fuss?
I just fail to understand this debate in the first place! TZP is a very good movie and had a great message, especially for parents. And Aamir stars in the movie only halfway. He also happens to be the director of the movie, so?
Whoever on this EARTH thinks that Oscars are rigged, better get yourself CT-scanned!! The motion picture academy (parent body of oscar awards)is what it is - an ACADEMY and the awards are chosen by a 100% full-proof democratic voting system which we Indians cannot even DREAM of! Of course, the panel decisions are surely affected by several observations and comments, but the panel itself is so strong that its decisions are very rarely challenged. Coming to nominations for Indian films, dont forget that it was only Lagaan which showed the way to our idiotic "bollywood" filmmakers. And who can forget that the "great stammer-king" SRK could not resist when the movie BLACK was chosen for that years Oscar entry from India, and somehow it was eventually his OVERACTED MELODRAMA "Paheli" which was selected. So request all you folks to stop beating the drum of this guy vs. that guy and try to realise the overall value of an Indian movie which could represent us in the global arena. I am happy about Slumdog Millionaire, but frankly, I am sad by the fact that it took a "phirang" director to show Indians how to make global-quality cinema.

I don't make films for awards: Aamir Khan
I don't make films for awards: Aamir Khan
After Aamir Khan's directorial debut Taare Zameen Par failed to get an Oscar nomination in the foreign film category, the superstar has said that he does not make films for “awards” but for the “audience”.
“I don't make films for awards. I make films for the audience. The audience, for which I have made the film, really loved it and the audiences outside India have also loved it. What I am trying to say is that film has been well loved across the globe and that for me it is extremely heartening and something that I give very high value to,” Aamir said in an interview to NDTV 24x7.
